68th Venice Filmfestival Wuthering Heights

English newcomer Kaya Scodelario (Skins, Shank) was in Venice to promote her upcoming movie "Wuthering Heights", directed by acclaimed director Andrea Arnold (Fishtank, Red Road)

Kaya Scodelario signed my DVD-boxsets of Skins Season 1 and Skins Season 3. She also signed a photo of Skins and posed for a picture inside the Excelsior hotel.

Below is a trailer for the televion series Skins and also a tribute to Effy.

68th Venice Filmfestival: Contagion

Another highlight of the festival was a new movie directed by Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Ocean's 11,12 & 13) called "Contagion". To promote this movie Steven Soderbergh, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Ehle, Lawrence Fishburne and Matt Damon came over to Venice. Unfortunately it was almost impossible to meet them, even at the the premiere and the press conference. They were just not allowed (?!?!) to meet the fans.

Matt Damon broke the rules for almost 30 seconds where I was able to get his signature on my "Contagion" poster. A picture with the bald shaven actor was absolutely impossible. Luckily for me I already got a picture with him at "The Bourne Ultimatum" premiere in Amsterdam in 2007.

Eli Roth, director of Hostel and Hostel 2, is mostly known for his part in Inglorious Basterds. When he attended the red carpet premiere of Contagion he signed my poster of Inglorious Basterds en posed for a picture.

68th Venice Filmfestival: 4:44 Last Day On Earth

The controversial director Abel Ferrara (Bad Lieutenant, King Of New York) was in Venice to promote his latest movie 4:44 Last Day On Earth, starring Willem Dafoe. When I met Abel Ferarra, I thought he was a bit strange, but he signed my DVD-covers of Bad Lieutenant (the original version) and King Of New York. He also posed for a picture inside the Excelsior hotel.
Below is a trailer for perhaps his best movie "Bad Lieutenant"

68th Venice Filmfestival: Poulet Aux Prunes

The french movie "Poulet Aux Prunes" premiered at the 68th Venice Filmfestival. Although I don't think much of the movie, the movie's lead actor Mathieu Amalric (Quantum Of Solace) come over to Venice to promote the movie.

The actor who played to villain in the latest James Bond movie "Quantum Of Solace" signed my poster of the movie but unfortunately I wasn't able to get a picture with him.

68th Venice Filmfestival: Shame

The second collaboration of director Steve McQueen (Hunger) and actor Michael Fassbender (X-Men-First Class, Inglorious Basterds) is the upcoming movie "Shame". McQueen and Fassbender both came over to Venice to promote the movie.

When they arrived for the press conference Michael Fassbender signed my DVD-cover of "Hunger" and posed for a picture.
Director Steve McQueen also signed my DVD-cover of Hunger and also posed for a picture.

68th Venice Filmfestival: Un été brûlant

Another movie at the Venice Filmfestival was the movie Un été brûlant, starring Monica Bellucci (The Matrix Reloaded, The Passion Of The Christ, Shoot 'm Up) and Louis Garrel (The Dreamers, Ma Mere). I was able to meet both of them inside the Excelsior hotel.

Louis Garrel signed my DVD-covers of The Dreamers and Ma Mere and posed for a picture.
Monica Bellucci was in quite a rush. She wanted to make a picture but unfortunately it didn't come out very good. Fortunately I already got a better one in Cannes a few years back.

68th Venice Filmfestival: Darren Aronofsky

Darren Aronofsky, the acclaimed director of movies like "The Wrestler", "Requiem For A Dream" and "Black Swan", had the privilege to head this year's jury at the prestigious Venice Filmfestival. I was lucky enough to meet him in person two times at the festival. During these two times he signed my poster of "Black Swan", a picture of "The Wrestler" and the DVD-cover of "Black Swan". He also posed for a picture both times.

68th Venice Filmfestival: W.E.

In order to see new places of our planet, I decided to go a filmfestival I've never been to. It si also a filmfestival I've never been told stories of, so I didn't know what to expect. Because of this and the reason Venice is one of the most romantic places in the world, I decided to combine the filmfestival with a vacation with my girlfriend Samantha. This means I wasn't a hundred percent dedicated "celebrityhunter" this time. Although I think Venice is not an easy place to meet the stars I managed to meet some celebrities.

One of the highlights of the festival was the premiere of the second movie Madonna directed, the movie "W.E." Madonna and a couple of stars from the movie where all present in Venice but I've only managed to meet the lead actress from the movie; Andrea Riseborough (Happy-Go-Lucky, Brighton Rock, Made in Dagenham). When I met her inside the Excelsior hotel she was willing to pose for a picture with me.

The actor, currently only playing in B-movies is one of my personal favourites and therefor I was more than happy to meet him. He signed my Highlander poster and posed for several pictures.
